Steam chat is now broken....

Valve updated the steam web chat, it seems that its works differently.

Anyone has any solution other than understand how this system works, maybe login into the old steam web chat?

It's unlikely that chat in node-steamcommunity will be fixed since everything goes through the CM now, and that's what node-steam-user is designed for.

Can you please explain more about what you mean with everything going through the CM now? 

My node-steam-community suddenly broke about a month ago. I wasn't sure if it was my Node version or something else.

 

Did steam update their chat API causing it the SteamCommunity module to fail?

And if so how can I bypass this?

They updated webchat with the new system. It doesn't go through the API anymore. Now the browser connects to the same servers as the Steam client does, which is what steam-user is designed to do. So if you want to do chat, you need to do it through there now.
